Care In Cleaning Fire Damage

Facing a soot blackened room the urge would be virtually overwhelming to get in there and clean everything off to erase all signs of the fire damage. But a fire damage cleanup must be undertaken carefully or you will only end up making the place look worse and your belongings will be even further damaged.

This is particularly the case if there is soot present because soot will get deeply ingrained into anything it comes in contact with. Attempting to wipe it off will push it even deeper into the surface it is laying on. You also can’t just leave the soot where it is either because it will continue to stain as long as it is left in place.

A vacuum cleaner will be needed as well as some expert knowledge in the best way to get rid of it safely.
