Vigorous Exercise For Healthy Weight Loss
Posted by whaleadmin in Diet and Exercise on July 2nd, 2009
I am a believer that in order to lose weight and keep it off that you have to develop and implement a vigorous exercise regime. Many people believe that they will lose weight simply by going outside and talking a brisk walk around the neighborhood three times a week. While the health benefits of doing something is better than doing nothing, the best way to lose weight is to crank up your exercise workout. Typically weight loss requires that you burn more calories than you consume. If you have been packing on the pounds for many years, the weight is not going to simply melt off with easy activities. You really need to motivate yourself to exercise vigorously through activities like running, cycling, swimming, exercise classes, etc. as well do some strength training with weights and/or machines. This along with a proper diet will have you losing the weight and keeping it off.
Total Body Cleanse To Improve Your Health
Posted by whaleadmin in Diet and Exercise on July 1st, 2009
Using a total body cleanse can be a great way to improve your health. Most people who try a total-body cleanse notice improvement in their health condition within a few weeks. There are many great places on the internet where you can learn how to do a total body cleanse as well as purchase the necessary materials for one. I tried a total body cleanse a few weeks ago and ended up having to buy a few supplements from Wal-Mart.
The total body cleanse process took about four weeks to fully complete, but I was happy with how it turned out and how great I felt afterwards. I have since encouraged my husband to try to do the total body cleanse and he is open to the idea. He has noticed that I seem to have a lot higher energy level now that the cleanse is over compared to when I first started. I ended up eating a lot healthier and have chosen to continue with the diet that I was on during the cleanse for a few more weeks. If you ever decide to try the total body cleanse, I wish you nothing but the best of luck!
Rosacea Treatment: Different Ways of Looking at Treating Rosacea
Posted by whaleadmin in Diet and Exercise on June 30th, 2009
Everyone has different ideas for how to best do things, and it’s not different when it comes to how to best treat rosacea.
A dermatologist and a doctor will have views on using mostly prescription drugs for treating rosacea. Those with an affinity towards “natural health” might shun such drugs and prefer herbal treatments, like lavender and drinking green tea. Others wonder if the over the counter treatments offer the best of the herbal world with non-harsh, OTC chemicals to treat their skin disorders. And finally, some see treatment more as a way to live life than as a set of drugs to take. This means avoiding triggers and thus avoiding the onset of symptoms.
If this last bit intrigues you more than the others, take a look at the Rosacea Treatment Guide, a free resource on treating rosacea.
Marijuana Addiction and Chronic Usage of Marijuana
Posted by whaleadmin in Diet and Exercise on June 30th, 2009
In my research on marijuana addiction, I’ve come across a figure time and time again that strikes me as amazing. This is the little known idea, somewhat speculative, and definitely not conclusively proved by any studies – that roughly 10% of chronic smokers are addicted to marijuana. By chronic, I mean daily usage for over a period of years. This is an observation from drug counselors and therapists, estimating that about 10% of chronic users become addicted. This number is way less than something like cocaine or meth – far more than 10% of daily users become addicted – but it is interesting to note how little attention marijuana addiction gets. This is something noted in Marijuana Addiction Help, a blog that discusses marijuana from different viewpoints, and yet not flat out rejecting marijuana as something bad, despite it being obvious there is addiction potential. It would be nice if Obama would fund some real studies on this without any fanfare, that took a look and made some conclusive results on addiction percentages versus overall usage patterns.
Liposculpture and Michael Jackson
Posted by whaleadmin in Diet and Exercise on June 30th, 2009
I’ve just re-watched Living With Michael Jackson and I’m sad to say, it’s obvious to anyone that’s watching that Michael is lying when he says he’s only had two cosmetic surgeries, and everything else is the result of puberty and natural changes to the face. The evidence stands to show otherwise, and anyone looking at his face and pictures of him since the 80′s can see an obvious use of plastic surgery on his nose, lips, cheeks, and chin. One question I never have seen posed to him though is if he’s used other surgeries, such as liposculpture or getting a face lift. Has Michael Jackson abused these forms of cosmetic enhancement as well?
It’s probably something we’ll never know or get a clear picture of, but it gives you an idea of how out of control someone can get with their appearance and the ability to literally sculpt it. For more information on cosmetic surgery, take a look at the Liposculpture Guide, a free resource on cosmetic surgery.
Top 3 Snack Foods Of All Time
Posted by whaleadmin in Diet and Exercise on June 29th, 2009
This was a tough decision with so many choices but I have, after much difficult thought and some fantastic “research” come to the conclusion on which are my all time top 3 snack foods.
#1 Cinema Buttered Popcorn
When done right there is just nothing that comes close to it. Popcorn on it’s own is fantastic and when you add cinema industrial salt and a scoop of melted butter the treat is sometimes as good or better than the film. Especially if the film is called “Mystery Men”
These bad boys are my favorite snack when I don’t happen to be at the pictures. It’s a mix of the sweet pretzel taste and the melt in your mouth chocolate that makes them irresistable.
#3 Peanut M&Ms
Delicious and never enough in a bag, any excuse to put out a bowl of these does not go unavoided. I don’t often like peanut snacks but these are definitely the exception to the rule.
Well I hope that got your craving levels up. See ya next time.
Seasilver Trace Minerals
Posted by whaleadmin in Diet and Exercise on June 25th, 2009
Did you know that trace minerals consist of a small amount of inorganic substance that your body needs? Boron, germanium cobalt, copper, iron, iodine, manganese, molybdenum, selenium and zinc are all important when it comes to your body’s nutritional needs. Each plays a very important role in digestion, bone and muscle development, and your immune system.
They help keep your bones and teeth healthy and strong, supply oxygen and energy to your body, reduce toxics and poisons that pollute your body, protect cells from free radical damage, keep thyroids functioning properly, ward off infections like colds and the flu, play an important role in sexual hormones and aide in the production of energy and the growth of your nervous system.
Generally trace minerals are found in the foods we eat, but there are many times when it’s not easy to consume the proper foods. Whether we simply don’t have the time or we just don’t want to make the effort, the natural liquid vitamin, SeaAloe (the original Seasilver formula) is a great alternative to meeting your nutritional needs. Isn’t it time you made the most of your health?
What Are Bitters?
Posted by whaleadmin in Diet and Exercise on June 25th, 2009
Bitters have been making a resurgence in bars and restaurants, and are considered an essential, for top of the line cocktails. There are potable bitters which are drinkable and non-potable which are more like a spice.
Which makes sense, because they are an extract of herbs and spices, with alcohol added to pull out the flavor. Before prohibition, there were many varieties of bitters. Bitters were also used for medicinal purposes, such as, to calm an upset stomach.
There are many types of bitters and they can be used as a flavor enhancer to highlight or smooth down a drink. In fact original cocktails usually required bitters.
So don’t be afraid to add some bitters into your cocktail shaker when you are experimenting with the perfect cocktail and all of it’s variations.
Why Do We Get Acne?
Posted by whaleadmin in Diet and Exercise on June 21st, 2009
Acne (or Acne Vulgaris) is a very common skin condition which affects most people at some time in their life, often during puberty. Follicles become blocked and it is this which causes the acne to form. It is not yet clear why some people suffer from acne and some do not. It is thought to be hereditary to some extent. Changes in the body’s hormones are also believed to affect the outbreak of acne.
Another factor which affects acne is the presence of the bacterium P. acnes in skin pores, and antibiotics are sometimes used as a treatment.
Other factors which can affect acne are believed to be stress, anabolic steroid abuse, certain prescribed medications, skin inflammation, overactive sebaceous glands and exposure to certain chemicals.
Often there is some scarring of the skin as a result of the acne. See the author’s site for information about getting rid of acne scars.
