It is seldom these days that children get to enjoy a fun show and learn something from it. Many TV shows for children these days are focused on entertaining and not much on learning. One such show that imparts knowledge and also fun to watch is Dinosaur Train. The PBS show focuses its story on the life of Buddy, a young T-Rex adopted by a Pteranodon family. Buddy is always eager to learn. He ventures on amazing adventures in search for the answers to the mysteries of his world. He rides the dinosaur train with his family and embarks on a journey of discovery into distant places and into different eras. There they find the different creatures that lived and their habitat. The show is entertaining and educational for kids because Buddy usually uses hypothesis in his queries and then tries to investigate on its validity. It is how scientific process work. This habit of thinking is then imparted in the young viewers. The conductor of the train is usually very helpful in answering some of the questions and provides much relevant information.

The young viewers of the show can easily relate to Buddy because they are about the same age. They can imitate Buddy’s inquisitive nature and apply them in real life. Much can be learned from the show both in habit and in knowledge. The many dinosaur train merchandise available is for sure a hit to the avid viewers. Many dinosaur toys both steady figure and interactive ones are available. Puzzles, books and movies are also out in the market. It is for sure that many other products will soon be produced as the show is slowly gaining more recognition.

Encouraging the children’s interest in dinosaurs can benefit the children as they grow older. They can develop the habit of researching for more facts if they are interested in something. Decorating the child’s room with a dinosaur theme can be an added treat for them. Dinosaur bedding and furniture will add a prehistoric feel as the child go about reading and knowing more about dinosaurs.

Though they can reference these forecasts if they desire, the bulk of the decisions made by a farmer regarding when to plant and the best times to harvest are dependent on his skills in observing weather patterns and climate shifts.

Over time, experienced farmers seem to develop a gut instinct for how the weather will turn and shift that can rival the high tech gadgets providing information to the local news forecasters. Such readings use a conglomeration of factors such as the presence of insects, the level of their activity, cloud cover, the presence of humidity, and rainfall patterns. Being able to piece these together can provide some amazingly accurate assessments of when it is best to plant and harvest. When a farmer sense the timing is right to plant or harvest his fields, there can be little to no delay in these actions. It can take multiple days to harvest and bale crops, especially on larger farms where a lot of area must be covered with equipment.

In preparation for these times, it is common to see farmers referencing their tractor manuals early in the season in order to make sure that all the needed repairs have been taken care of the machinery will be ready at that opportune time to plant or harvest. If a farmer were to wait and not reference these tractor manuals early in the season, it could literally cost them their crop yield later in the season. Tractor manuals are like the Bible of repair and maintenance information on which farmers depend in order to succeed in their work. Even a delay of a day or two in order to complete needed tractor repair can mean the difference between a full harvest, or having some hay bales fall subject to mold after a rain storm.

Being able to monitor the weather patterns with such expertise and conduct needed mechanical repairs can be complex, but they are really only a portion of the work which a farmer does. In addition, it is common to see these men pace their fields looking for signs of health or illness in their plants so that preventative action can be taken the moment an insect infestation or blight attack is detected. They also often monitor herds of livestock which they rotate through their fields as certain portions of land rest fallow for a season and recover needed nutrients before hosting another season of plant growth. Knowing how to balance all of these aspects takes a lot of skill and hard work that is admirable.
