You may have tried countless of blackhead treatment products that just don’t work. How many times have you tried a product that does nothing but dry out your face and aggravate the blackheads even more?
The key to getting rid of blackheads is keeping the face clear. Blackheads are caused by a combination of sebum (skin oil) and dead skin cells clogging an open pore. When the mixture, along with melanin, is exposed to air, the blemish oxidizes. The oxidization results in the black coloring. Cleansing your face regularly prevents this clogging from occurring.
You will want to cleanse your face twice a day: every night and every morning. Cleansing your face at night gets rid of the debris accumulated in your pores during the day; cleansing in the morning gets rid of the excessive oil that was produced while you were sleeping.
When washing your face, avoid being too rough. Find a gentle non-comedogenic product. The product should also be alcohol-free to avoid drying out the skin. Even though drying the skin may be a good thing, it can cause the oil glands to overproduce sebum. After cleansing, follow up with a cool water rinse to close the pores.
