Cleaning Electric Coffee Makers

After a few months of making coffee every morning, electric coffee makers can get pretty stained and funky.  Fortunately, there is an easy way to clean the machine that gets us off on the right foot each morning.
First, mix some vinegar and water in the coffee pot that goes under the machine.  Pour that into the electric coffee maker and turn it on (no coffee is in there).  The vinegar and water will clean out any deposits or old coffee residue attached to your electric coffee maker.  Let the hot water/vinegar mixture drip down into the pot.  Toss it into the sink and fill with regular tap water.  Put that into the machine and run it.  Repeat one more time, and you should have a coffee maker that is clean and doesn’t smell like vinegar.
