There are a few principles of storage that will greatly help you organize your closet. In fact, these principles can be applied to anything – the garage, the cupboards, cabinets – as well as the closet. Let’s take a look at them.
1. Place the most accessed items in the space in front of you, between the hips and shoulders.
This will make it accessible without bending, stretching, or any effort beyond extending the arms and grabbing the item.
2. Place often used items at the tops and bottoms of shelves.
This is common sense – they need to be accessible, but not in the main part of your storage areas.
3. Place little used heavier items on the floor.
4. Place little used lighter items to the sides and on top.
