There are so many people upgrading their televisions now that it’s not funny. I get concerned about all the old televisions that are in perfectly good working order, that are ending up as landfill. All of those chemicals leeching into our ecosystem, just so that people can get a clearer pitcture and a flatter screen.
And it’s not only the televisions, but all the other paraphenalia that goes along with them. People are throwing out their old TV stands and getting specialised plasma TV stands. There are remotes, aerials, old dvd players, and all sorts of other things polluting our planet. Someone should set up a process whereby these old rejects can get reclaimed and reused in some way. I’m sure there are a lot of nursing homes, hospitals, halfway houses, and the likes, which absolutely love to get their hands on a bunch of second hand televisions. Why should these things go to waste?
