The humidifier filter is the most important consumable in a humidifier but new technology has allowed the need for replacement filters to be eliminated and this is not by inventing reusable filters which already exists. A humidifier filter is what moistens the air because it is saturated with water while a fan blows dry air through the unit. It also traps dust and particles that pollute the air to keep it from re-entering the room. But a filter less humidifier uses a charges grid to attract particles in the air that have been oppositely charged. This keeps maintenance cost low because there is no need for replacement filters. All that is required is regularly pulling the grid out of the unit and wiping it clean.
