Gout Treatments and a Campfire

I love to go camping.  In fact, I went camping past week so I could see my nephew.  Being how he was in the boy scouts (I stopped at Webelos), I let him do all the firestuff.  I do know how to make fires, of course, but I always like to joke with him on whose the boss, so he works, I supervise.

One thing he is very good at is cooking over a fire.  Especially if it is in a dutch oven.  So, he told me he had a treatment for gout I would never forget.  I was interested to see how he was going to do this.

He had this concoction already to go in the Dutch oven and threw it in the fire for quite a while.  Finally, he told me to sit and be prepared for a treat.  He totally fooled me.  He started laughing as he lifted the plate before my eyes.  He had made me cherry jubilee.  I know cherries are good for gout pain, but cherry jubilee is hardly going to cure my gout.  I do have to say though, it was good!
