There has been a lot of talk in the hair restoration news lately about using lasers to re-grow hair. Everyone is pretty comfortable now with using lasers to get rid of unwanted hair but the use of low level laser light to increase hair growth is something new. Most people don’t understand how something that could blow up a space ship could make hair grow.
The fact is the lasers used in laser hair restoration are not anything at all like the ones you see in the movies. The ones that are used for hair growth have a very low energy level. Their only function is to excite the hair follicles to get more blood flow and thus allow the hair to grow more. They do this with a very low level light that warms the tissue under the scalp.
