Pit bull terriers were brought into the United States in 19th century. They were bred as fighting dogs in England, where at one stage every county had its own breed of dog, and this kind of breeding did not stop when the dogs arrived in America.
Pit bull terriers are given special training so that they will fight to the death by owners who are involved in pitbulls fighting. There is over 100,000 people taking part in illegal pitbull
fights involving pitbull terriers in the United States today. This is an illegal “sport”, and is motivated only by making money through gambling.
If you suspect anybody of being involved in illegal dog fights, it is your moral duty to report them to your local police department.
