I have been looking to replace my current cordless tools with a kit that uses the new lithium ion batteries. There are several manufacturers that are now offering lithium ion battery cordless power tools including Hitachi, Makita, and Ryobi. But, my current cordless tools are all Makita and I was thinking that I would probably replace these other Makita tools. The current cordless tools were also bought one at a time rather than in a kit. A kit can be much less expensive especially when you can find them on sale at one of the big box hardware stores. I really like the look of the Makita LXT lithium ion powered tools. The drill, by far the most used tool in the kit, fits nicely in the hand and is quite a bit lighter than my older drill. In fact all the tools are lighter and have far longer battery life than the previous NiCad battery models.
