If you own an inground pool and during the winter you just cover it with a plain old tarp or trash-bag looking tarp then I would recommend stepping up and investing in a swimming pool safety cover. There are many benefits to owning such a winter cover. First and foremost is that they are safe. So if you have little kids or pets running around your backyard then this would make for a great investment. Also unlike tarp covers, they are extremely light and easy to put on and take off in the winter months and spring time. And if you buy a mesh swimming pool cover then you won’t have to worry about draining the cover in the middle of the winter. The mesh cover allows to water to just fall into the pool so no water collects on top of the cover.
