Disneyland Candlelight Remains a Family Favorite

For the past 50 years, the Candlelight Processional has been a favorite attraction at Disneyland during the Christmas Season.  This year, the 2009 Disneyland Candlelight Processional promises to bring joy and celebration to families who attend Disneyland on the 5th or 6th of December.

Disneyland invites and auditions choirs throughout the Southern California area to participate in the 700+ mass Choir that sings carols starting from back lots of Disneyland, down Main Street to the park entrance.

The processional is led by the Disneyland Choir — consisting of volunteer Disneyland employees — dressed in green robes to form a Christmas Tree in the center stage just in front of the Main Street Railroad Station. The mass Choir follows them filling both the left and right of the tree.

Once the Choir is on stage, Candlelight starts immediately with the singing of “Sing Praise to Him, Our Lord.”  In between arrangements, the Narrator tells of the birth of Christ.  A total of 12 arrangements are performed.

Disneyland offers preferred seating, but you can still see the performance from Main Street if you arrive 1 hour before each show starting at 5:30 PM or 8:00 PM.
