Garage Storage Systems Principles

Organizing items in a garage will be an insane task if you don’t really TRY to organize things in the first place. This is, in fact, what most people do. If there’s something without a spot, oh, just go ahead and throw it in the garage!
Not a good idea.
So maybe you’re fed up with it and want some ideas on how to do things better? There’s a really simple 3-principle system for how to do this, and can be summed up as follows.
1. Place the most accessed objects within arms reach. This means placing them in the space in front of you from your hips to your shoulders. All it’s going to take now is to extent your arm and grab the desired object.
2. Place light objects higher. This means placing them on the top shelves and not the bottom.
3. Place heavier objects on or near the ground. This means you won’t have to struggle to grab them or risk having heavy items fall on you when reaching them.
Combining these 3 principles, you’ll be on your way to getting things stored properly. For more ideas, many that don’t cost a thing, check out the Garage Storage Systems Guide, a free resource on garage storage ideas.
