Some hunters might consider using compound bows to be an inferior way to go out hunting, but the compound bow provides a tremendous challenge in many ways. It takes a lot of skill to learn how to shoot a bow accurately and there is also a big challenge in positioning yourself close enough to your game to make the killing shot.
However, the whole process has been made increasingly easy thanks to technological advances in cams, limbs and vibration dampeners. Powerful shots can be taken from further away than before and kills can be made with one shot rather than a long, drawn out multiple shot kill.
With a trade-off between power and accuracy, the need to consistently practice fire your bow is still necessary. Hitting the target is a challenge that remains the primary focus of all archers no matter how much technology is packed into the bow.
