Having the ability to write our ideas and thoughts down give enormous power. Each individual can come up with totally unique concept that can drastically change and improve the trajectory of civilization. In one instance it can destroy and degrade (Hitler) and in another it can completely change the way we think about the world… literally (Galileo). To become truly self-educated and to increase your influence for good in the world, consistently practice writing your thought and ideas down on paper or on a secure computer. In time you’ll be able to communicate with others in powerful and persuasive ways.
Write with your children. Don’t just leave it up to the public schools to try and instill the habit of writing into them. Ivariably, they fail. Decide now to write with your children. Collaborate with them on stories and essays. Start a family blog and make it a daily or weekly chore for them to write something for the blog. Get them used to writing and expressing themselves. Not only will they excell in dramatic ways in formal schooling but they will hold sway in their adult years because of their ability to articulate effectively.
